San Gimignano

San Gimignano is a walled medieval town in the province of Siena. It is famous for the medieval architecture, tall towers that can be seen from several kilometers outside the town. San Gimignano has managed to conserve fourteen towers of varying heights which have become its international symbol. Also of interest is the white wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, grown in the area.
